Using Screen Announcements
Show your team a message or a quick question when they sign in
Applies to: Workforce · Premium · LawBillity
When a message has to reach everyone, such as a timesheet deadline or an office closure, a screen announcement puts it in front of people when they sign in. You can also ask a question and see the answers in a report.
Creating an Announcement
- Click Admin > Screen Announcements & Questions.
- Create a new announcement.
- Choose the type: Announcement (a message), Yes or No Question, or Multiple Choice Question.
- Enter the title and the message.
- Choose how often it shows: One Time Only, Every 24 Hours, or Every Time user logs in.
- Set the dates it should show, and who should see it.
- Save.
People see it as a pop-up after they sign in and close it to carry on. To see answers to a question, run the Screen Announcements & Questions report under Home > Reports.
Good Uses
- Timesheet deadlines: "Submit your time for the pay period ending 7/15 by Friday."
- Policy changes: "From August 1, every time entry needs a project."
- Office closures: "The office is closed Monday for Labor Day. Log it as time off."
- Quick polls: "Can you attend the team meeting on Thursday?" as a yes or no question.
Tips
- Keep it short. People close long messages without reading them.
- Set an end date so old messages stop showing.
- For reminders that repeat every week, use notifications instead. See Configuring Firm Notifications.
