My Timer Isn't Working Properly

Fix a timer that stops, pauses, disappears, shows the wrong time, or doesn't save

Applies to: Workforce · Premium · LawBillity

Find what your timer is doing below. Most timer problems come from a firm setting, the browser, or your time zone.

Fixes by Problem

If your timer...
Likely cause
Do this
Paused when you started another one
Your firm has Concurrent Timers disabled, so only one timer runs at a time
That's expected. Resume the other timer when you switch back, or ask your admin about allowing concurrent timers.
Saved more time than it ran, such as 6 minutes for 2
Your firm uses Timer Rounding, which rounds timer time up
That's expected. Ask your admin if the increment looks wrong.
Disappeared, along with other running timers
Your firm switched from timers to time cards, which stops and deletes running timers
Ask your admin. Entries you'd already saved are still there.
Shows the wrong time of day
The time zone on your user profile doesn't match where you are
Ask your admin to check the Time Zone on your user profile (Admin > Manage Users, Overview tab). Your date format is under My Account.
Stops when you close the browser
The browser closed the page the timer was running in
Keep the Time Tracker tab open, or use the mobile or desktop app for long timers.
Doesn't save an entry
Your connection dropped or your session timed out
Sign in again and check your timesheet. The entry may already be there.
