Outlook Add-in for Time Tracking
Log time for emails and meetings without leaving Outlook
Applies to: Workforce · Premium · LawBillity
If much of your day is email, calls, and meetings, the Outlook add-in lets you log that time from Outlook itself, so you don't have to switch to Time Tracker each time.
Installing the Add-in
- Open Outlook, on your desktop or on the web.
- Open Get Add-ins (on the Home tab, or File > Manage Add-ins).
- Search for "eBillity" or "Time Tracker".
- Click Add, then follow the steps to connect your Time Tracker account.
You can also install it from these links: Outlook 365 add-in or Outlook desktop add-in. It works in Outlook desktop and Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com).
Logging Time for an Email
- Open the email.
- Click the eBillity add-in button in the toolbar. A time entry form opens with the email's subject and sender filled in.
- Choose the client, project, and activity. Enter your hours, or start a timer.
- Click Save.
Logging Time for a Meeting
- After the meeting, open it in your Outlook calendar.
- Click the eBillity add-in button. The time is filled in from the meeting's length.
- Choose the client, project, and activity, and save.
Time you log from Outlook appears on your Time Tracker timesheet like any other entry.
Common Problems
- The add-in doesn’t appear after you install it. Restart Outlook. Some companies need their IT admin to approve add-ins, so check with them.
- Your client or project isn’t in the list. See Why Can't I See Certain Clients, Projects, or Activities?.
- You want to see meetings next to your time in Time Tracker instead. See Syncing with Google Calendar or Outlook.
