Syncing with Google Calendar or Outlook

See your Google or Outlook meetings next to your time entries

Applies to: Workforce · Premium · LawBillity

If your day is planned in Google Calendar or Outlook, connect it to Time Tracker. Your meetings then show next to the time you've logged, so it's easy to see what you've missed.

Connecting Your Calendar

  1. Open the Calendar in Time Tracker.
  2. Click the option to sync or connect a calendar.
  3. Choose Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar.
  4. Sign in and allow Time Tracker to read your calendar.
  5. Choose which calendars to show, for example your work calendar but not your personal one.

What You'll See

Meetings show on the Time Tracker Calendar with their title, time, and length, styled differently from your time entries. They're read-only, so change them in Google or Outlook. Sync goes one way: your time entries don't appear in Google or Outlook.

Turning a Meeting into a Time Entry

Sync doesn't create time entries for you, so you decide what gets logged. See a 2-hour client meeting? Click that time slot to create a time entry for it. See Using the Time Tracker Calendar.

Common Problems

  • Some meetings don’t show. Check that the right calendar is selected in your sync settings. Many people have several calendars and only connected one.
  • Your time entries aren’t in Google or Outlook. Sync only brings events into Time Tracker. To share your Time Tracker calendar, export it. See Importing and Exporting Calendar Events (.ics).
  • You’d rather log time while you’re in Outlook. Use the Outlook add-in. See Outlook Add-in for Time Tracking.
