Tracking Time on the Daily Timesheet
Log time with exact start and end times, one day at a time
Applies to: Billing
When you need to record when work started and ended, not just how long it took, use the daily timesheet. It shows one day at a time with From and To times for each entry.
The daily timesheet: one day, with From and To times and Timers in Progress below.
Adding an Entry
- Click Time & Expenses and select Daily Timesheet at the top.
- Pick the Client-Project and Activity.
- Add a description if you like. It shows on the invoice.
- Enter the From and To times, or type the hours straight into Total Time.
- Tick Bill if the client pays for this time, or untick it if not.
Need another row? Click Add a new entry. Use the arrows next to the date to move between days.
The daily and weekly timesheets show the same entries. Anything you add here also appears on the weekly timesheet. See Tracking Time on the Weekly Timesheet.
Timers in Progress
Any timer you're running appears under Timers in Progress, below your entries. See Using Timers.
Common Problems
- Times show in 24-hour format (or the other way around). An admin can switch between 12-hour and military time in Settings > System Settings. See Setting Up Company and System Settings.
- Entries land on the wrong day. Check the firm's time zone in Settings > System Settings.
- A row won’t save. A billable entry needs both a client-project and an activity.
