Time Tracker for Android
Install the app on your Android phone or tablet and keep timers running in the background
Applies to: Workforce · Premium · LawBillity
Use the Android app to run timers, log time and expenses, and check your schedule from any Android phone or tablet. It has the same features as the iPhone app and syncs with the web app at secure.ebillity.com, so anything you enter on your phone shows up on the web, and the other way around.
Installing the App
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for eBillity Time Tracker.
- Tap Install.
- Open the app and sign in with the same email and password you use on the web.
Note: If your firm uses LawBillity, download the LawBillity app instead. See
Mobile: Downloading and Installing the App.
What You Can Do in the App
- Timers: start, pause, and stop a timer. It keeps running when you switch apps.
- Quick time entry: log work you've already done with the client, project, activity, and hours.
- Your entries: check and edit the time you've logged.
- GPS clock-in: if your admin turned on GPS tracking, your location is recorded when you start or stop a timer.
- Reminders: push notifications for unfilled timesheets, schedule changes, and approval updates.
- Expenses: log an expense and photograph the receipt with your camera, on plans that include expenses.
Set It Up So It Works
- Allow Location if your company uses GPS tracking or geofencing. If your admin made location Required for you, you can't enter time without it.
- Let the app run in the background. Some Android phones close background apps to save battery, which stops your timer. Look for a setting like Settings > Battery > App Optimization and turn optimization off for Time Tracker. The exact menu depends on your phone.
Common Problems
- Your timer keeps stopping. It's almost always battery optimization. Turn it off for Time Tracker as described above.
- You can’t sign in. Check your email and password, or reset your password from the web. See Mobile: Logging In.
- Something you entered on the web isn’t on your phone. Tap the refresh icon in the sync bar at the bottom of the screen. See Mobile: How Syncing Works.
